These tiles come from the age-old "Nazari" tradition, "Nazari" referring to the Kingdom of Granada dating from the 13th to 15th century. Based on eight geometric patterns, the mosaics are handmade with many different-shaped pieces which all fit together.
The clay is cut "raw", then kiln-fired at 1040 degrees to transform it into terracotta. The tiles are then enamelled, one by one, with natural pigments before being fired for a second time. Once you have chosen your design, your tiles will be made, numbered, laid out and overlaid with an adhesive film, ready to be pressed into place by your builder. Please take a look at the examples of finished projects on our Mosaic Alizäre gallery. Then, if possible, come into the shop for a consultation. Once we have all the necessary information (choice of pattern, colour, square-meterage, your address) we will be able to obtain a quote for you.
Alizäre patterns start from around £180 per square metre, while borders start from around £35 per linear metre, depending on the pattern. Letters and numbers start from £6, plus delivery.
