Clerkenwell Design Week

Our feet are still throbbing and our backs are still aching, but we couldn't be happier with the whirlwind of long days and excitement that was Clerkenwell Design Week.

For three days last week, we moved our wares and created a mini-showroom on our stand in the Additions Pavillion of CDW2017

One of our main purposes at the show, was to debut our new encaustic pattern designed by Rob Lowe, aka Supermundane

Rob is an artist local to us and we've been enjoying his fun, colourful style for a while. After months of working with him on this collaboration, we can confirm that Rob's amazing talent is definitely matched by a great personality and we couldn't be happier to have worked with him, especially with the result:

He's created a single design in two colourways that tessellates in many different ways to create new patterns. How many patterns? LOTS! We've been playing around with them and keep coming up with new combinations.

This tile is now ready to order, so contact us if you're interested in using it on a project. We're also selling a limited number of individual tiles with a certificate of authenticity signed by Supermundane; so if you're interested in owning an affordable art piece by one of the most dynamic illustrators in the contemporary scene, you can do so here

Another reason to exhibit at Clerkenwell was to showcase Alhambra's bespoke work. Over the years we have worked closely with many clients, both trade and retail, to deliver tiles made to measure. Our enthusiasm and passion for what we do, paired with an excellent, close relationship with our suppliers means that there's rarely a brief we cannot meet.

The bespoke tiles we had on show at Clerkenwell included these vibrant designs for Parisian restaurant Pink Mamma:

And last but not least, we also wanted to take the opportunity to display some of our new products, amongst which, our lattice bricks proved to be very popular:

These are suitable for use both inside and out. They make beautiful feature walls that filter light and create interesting shadows.

Overall a great experience.

So, Venga! & Animo! We're really looking forward to helping the guys we met at Clerkenwell and all our other clients who have enquired about exciting summer projects!
